The Bras d’Or Lakes CEPI Steering Committee meets monthly, 12 months of the year. Special task teams (management planning task team; funding task team; collaborative salmon initiative; communications team; monitoring/research task team, etc.) meet on a less formal basis as required to complete their tasks.

The Bras d’Or Lakes CEPI Steering Committee members have a shared interest in and commitment to the CEPI mission, which is “to develop an overall management plan for the ecosystem of the Bras d’Or lakes and watershed lands and to facilitate its implementation by governments and other relevant stakeholders.”

We have made good progress to date and have in hand a communications plan, and the first ‘chapters’ of the state of the environment report. Many interests are involved and advancing the vision and the momentum is building.
